to Brown Traffic Products. I hope you find the content on
this site useful and informative. In addition to Brown
Traffic Products headquarters located in Davenport, Iowa
operations are maintained in Chicago, Minneapolis, and St.
Louis. Through the years we have expanded our staff and
product lines continually to offer products and services
that meet the demands of the industry. From pedestrian
pushbuttons to Advanced Transportation Management Systems,
Brown Traffic Products has the experience and the products
to ensure a leading edge solution.
We serve
the Traffic Signaling and Highway Safety Industry in the
Midwest. Our company, founded in 1969 by Roger L. Brown as
the Roger L. Brown Sales Agency, served the industry in
Minnesota and Iowa. This territory was later expanded to
include Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South
Dakota. In 1976, William J. Schiltz, the former General
Sales Manager for Eagle Traffic Control Systems, acquired
the company rather than relocate with Eagle to Austin,
Texas. Through the years, our company continued to expand,
outgrowing two facilities, and eventually moved to the
former headquarters and manufacturing facility of Eagle
Traffic Control Systems in Davenport, Iowa. This 250,000
square-foot facility, owned and operated by Schiltz
Properties, has provided constant opportunities for
expansion by acquiring more square footage within the
building on an as-needed basis. Concurrent to the
facility expansion Brown Traffic Products acquired Riddle
Control Products in 1982 and entered the Illinois market
in 1988. Roger L. Brown, Ralph M. Riddle and William J.
Schiltz provided a strong foundation upon which the
company continues to grow today.
